Don't Do This, Bill Simmons.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Memo to Bill Simmons: please--and I beg you, sir, as a long-time resident of the D.C. Metro: do not get this region's collective hopes up by pitching a scenario that is never likely to happen.

I'm with the D.C. Sports Bog on this one.

LeBron James...to the Washington Wizards?  Come on, man.

That's great fodder for the two warring sports talk radio factions, and the fans who don't know any better, but it's nothing based in any reality.  I mean, Ovechkin was a fluke opportunity for a sucky Capitals outfit, and it's turned out great for them.  LeBron to Washington is a pipe dream; yes, they got Jordan.  The used-car version of Jordan, that is; still ran great, but didn't have all the features it had in Chicago.  Like bench depth, Phil Jackson cruise control, or a general manager not named Michael Jordan.

Though, if it were to happen, you won't hear me complain.  You will, however, see me gloat about how dead wrong the collective NBA Conventional Wisdom was about their certainty that James was headed to New York--that I am openly rooting for, as the last thing I think the NBA needs is All NYK/LAL, All The Time.
