NFC Champions: New Orleans Saints

--------------------------------------------------------------------
WHO DAT?  THEY DAT!

Ahem.  Sorry.

The New Orleans Saints are NFC Champions for the first time, defeating the Minnesota Vikings--who have not won an NFC Championship since the 1976 season--31-28 in overtime.

The Vikings gave this one away, despite playing their hearts out.  I feel bad in a way for Brett Favre; he played his butt off, took shot after shot, and yet every opportunity the Vikes had in the 4th Quarter to score was done in by a stupid turnover.  And once again, Favre...threw a pick in clutch time.  That has to be aggravating for Packers Vikings fans.

And I don't want to hear about the overtime rule and how it's not fair to the Vikings.  Look, they had the ball with 22 seconds left, on the edge of field goal range, and took a dumb penalty, then threw a desperation pass to Sidney Rice that got picked, then lost the toss on their call.  That's how it goes.  They had their chances, and they blew it.

However, I got both my Super Bowl picks right!  Yay, me!

This is a great night for New Orleans, for Louisiana, and for football.  Welcome to the big show, New Orleans Saints.
